My PC or Media HQ? |
Lead | ||

When I try to go to the front page it just comes up white... this is happening on both computers. Something wrong? Or is it me?

It's an Internet Explorer thing. IE won't completely load the eve6mediahq page (tried from two different machines). Firefox works fine.

Also...the Frame 11 tag is jacked...the closing ">" should be after the noresize tag.

my web programming skills are weak when at its very best.. when i was updating the meta tags last night i accidentally removed the /html at the bottom of the page.. firefox still worked without this but IE didnt.. the other errors that you pointed out, well i dunno about them lol.. i generally use dreamweaver, so however it was saved in there is how it was done..

Cool - good luck.
By the way, Dreamweaver has had a few problems over the years with some of its code generation. I think there's a capability in Dreamweaver (File|CheckPage|ValidateMarkup) - or something like that - which will scrub your code, too. Thanks for you work! Dan |

Will do, Ross. I do some usability product management in my everyday job and I have strong opinions about how things should look and feel. However I understand
the eve6mediahq web site to be a volunteer passion, not a paid-for product, and that it simply needs to *work* when someone gets here
so I'm not so
critical about what I find here. You guys have a done a good job keeping the web site going all these years. I'm your basic middle-aged lurker...
I love the blog format since it's easy to maintain (for you) and easy to read (for us). Once that last bit of code on the home page is cleaned up a little there should be no more problems. It's too bad that dreamweaver munges the code like it does. However, the tools I mentioned (and there are other online validation tools) should help keep troubles to a minimum. Dan |
